Our Commitment to the Celiac & Gluten Free Community
Roughly one in every 100 people are diagnosed with celiac disease.
It is also estimated that up to 83% of Americans who have celiac disease are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions. Celiac disease is a serious genetic autoimmune disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. The average person waits six to ten years before being properly diagnosed and the only existing treatment for celiac disease is a strictly gluten-free diet.
It shouldn't be this way.
In April of 2020, at the peak of Covid-19, we received an influx of messages from celiacs inquiring if our medicine was verified gluten-free. As it turns out, there was only one large retailer at the time selling gluten-free medications and they had sold out. With people unable to leave their homes and with Americans panic buying, celiacs were unable to find the medicine they needed. This was a period in which anxiety and uncertainty was mounting everywhere, and the idea that on top of all of this, celiacs also had to worry about the quality and safety of their medication was unimaginable.
Cabinet products are not only verified gluten free, but are independently batch-level quality tested which means every single bottle of medicine sold is chemically tested and confirmed free of toxins, carcinogens, and gluten.
We immediately began working with the community to ensure anyone who needed access to verified gluten-free medication was provided with product. We've continued this outreach for the last year and are continually amazed at the resilience and determination of the celiac community.
We're committed to working with the celiac community, continuing our efforts to be as supportive as possible and listen to the needs of those suffering from celiac disease. We've developed a custom gluten-free kit and we're very proud to be the only over-the-counter medicine company to partner with the Celiac Disease Foundation and support their efforts to fight the increase rate of diagnosis, to improve treatment, and find a cure for celiac disease.
