Have questions?

The caps are made out of plastic. We are currently exploring using a plant-based plastic for these so that they can be recycled.

Cabinet pouches are made of 100% earth digestible (compostable) materials, specifically wood cellulose and biomaterials. They are also certified 100% backyard compostable and can be brought to local industrial or commercial composting facilities.

Cabinet’s medicine-safe refill pouches are made from wood cellulose and other biomaterials, and are designed to be composted in accordance with ASTM D6400. When you’re done refilling your bottle, simply remove the prescription label on the front of the pouch and compost in your at-home composting device or at your nearest industrial composting facility. Appropriate facilities may not exist in your area.

You can buy our refillable bottles! Here is a link to where you can find them.

It is important to check in with your doctor or healthcare provider before taking Cabinet Pain Reliever & Sleep Aid if you have liver disease, a breathing problem (such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis), glaucoma, or trouble urinating as a result of an enlarged prostate gland.

If you are currently taking a blood thinner called warfarin, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, or any other medications that make you sleepy or have sedative effects, ask a doctor or local pharmacist prior to taking using this product.

In addition to its desired effects, Cabinet Pain Reliever & Sleep Aid may cause some less desirable side effects. While the acetaminophen component of this medicine does not really have any side effects, the diphenhydramine component does have some notable side effects. Everyone is different, so some people may experience no side effects at all, others may experience mild side effects, and a small number of people may experience rare or more serious adverse effects.

Some side effects of diphenhydramine include: dry mouth/nose/throat, sleepiness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, headache, nervousness, muscle weakness. Call your doctor immediately is you experience any vision problems, difficulty urinating, or painful urination. Some patients may experience side effects that are not on this list. Older adults may be more prone to the side effects of diphenhydramine. Check in with your health care provider or local pharmacist if you have questions or experience serious side effects.

Although rare, call 9-1-1 or seek medical help immediately if you develop a serious allergic reaction to this product. Symptoms of a very serious reaction include: rash, skin reddening, blisters, itching or swelling (usually in the face, tongue, and throat), severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing.

In the case of an overdose, contact a Poison Control Center (1-800-222-1222) or seek medical attention immediately. Signs of overdose may include: nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, sweating, stomach pain, yellowing of the eyes/skin, dark urine, and extreme fatigue.

Cabinet Pain Reliever & Nighttime Sleep Aid, a generic alternative to Tylenol® PM (or acetaminophen PM), is an over-the-counter (OTC) combination pill used for the temporary relief of pain that is accompanied by sleeplessness. Each tablet contains two medicines, each working to relieve specific symptoms. How each individual ingredient works is explained below:

Acetaminophen: The active ingredient, acetaminophen, belongs to a group of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). The exact way acetaminophen works in the body is not well known. It may work by decreasing the production of chemicals that cause inflammation, known as prostaglandins. It is also thought that acetaminophen can increase the pain threshold, making it so that more pain would have to develop for before you can feel it. Lastly, acetaminophen can act on the heat-regulating center of the brain (hypothalamus). When your temperature is high, it can tell this center of the brain to cool the body to bring your fever down. It is important to note acetaminophen does not decrease inflammation or swelling, rather it most likely changes the way your body perceives pain. This ingredient is available separately as Cabinet Pain Reliever & Fever Reducer.

Diphenhydramine: The active ingredient, diphenhydramine hcl, belongs to a group of medications called antihistamines. Antihistamines work by blocking the action of histamine, which is a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms and reactions. Some antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine, can enter the brain and cause drowsiness. This side effect is what allows for diphenhydramine to be a great occasional, non-habit forming sleep aid. In addition to helping with sleep, this ingredient also works to relieve symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes. Cabinet Pain Reliever and Nighttime Sleep Aid can provide relief for occasional sleeplessness, but is not used for long-term treatment of insomnia. This ingredient is available separately as Cabinet Sleep Aid and Cabinet Allergy Relief.
