Founded on a vision of sustainability in healthcare.
Today, our pharmacy aisles are overrun with single-use plastic medicine bottles. Nearly 190 billion of them end up in our oceans and landfills each year. This is both an environmental and healthcare crisis. Yet, no plastic-free medicine options exist.
Between our health and the health of the environment, we believe there should be no compromises.
It all started with family.
In the 1960’s our CEO’s grandfather—or Kalyandada as we call him in Gujarati—built one of the first acetaminophen factories in a small town in India.
These deep roots in India created the foundation for Cabinet’s ethical supply chain, which makes all of our medicines today.
Built up by healthcare and environmental experts.
Two close friends, Achal Patel and Russ Gong, combined their experiences in medicine and sustainable product development and founded the company. They formed a team of mission driven experts to harness the pharmaceutical industry as a force to combat plastic waste and broader climate change.
Developing a refillable and compostable medicine system.
Making sustainable healthcare products is super hard. But after thousands of designs, countless factory and pharmacy visits, and spending our life savings on research and development, we finally created version 1.0 of our refillable and compostable system. The world’s first and only sustainable and refillable medicine system.

I blend my experience across diverse pharmacy settings with a specialization in community pharmacy. At Cabinet, I'm committed to improving patient-centered care and modernizing healthcare through service & technology.
As a pulmonologist, I see the plastic waste in the healthcare industry everyday. I work with the Cabinet team to come up with solutions to reduce the environmental impact of our healthcare systems.
